Audi TT (2003)
Last updated on: Aug 01 2010
“Vorsprung durch Technik”, or “Advancement through Technology” – that’s the corporate tag-line of Audi, and it does deliver to its promise with the Audi TT. The German manufacturer brought out the luxury sports car in 1998. The 2003 Audi TT is a part of the first generation of the two door coupe or ‘roadster’, and is produced from the stables of the Volkswagen group. In the calendar year 2002, the car’s sales were down by 24 percent, but the 2003 model brought the sales back to the optimum level thanks to its premium sporty, performance car package.
The engine specifications include 1.8L Turbo, with a capacity of 3.2L and the car is powered by a VR6, so basically it has a four cylinder engine. While the previous versions did not feature an automatic transmission, the 2003 model of the TT comes equipped with a Direct Shift Gearbox, or DSG (S Tronic).

While the base models are inclusive of just front wheel drive coupled with traction control, the higher level models are all wheel drives. The most prominent features of the Audi are its acceleration and ease of handling, braking et al. The 2003 model is also available in a variety of colours, with blue and green tops (soft) being the most popular.
A look at the competition reveals that the Audi TT provides you with just the right balance between luxury and performance, in the true sense of the term. Its biggest advantage is the Quattro all wheel drive, helping the car to perform in all weather conditions, quite unlike other cars in its class.
The cheapest deals for the car can be negotiated at auctions on the internet, where the price range is as low as $14,000 - $15,000. Not expensive at all, considering the lofty standards of the German giant. It goes without saying that the car is worth every penny.
