BMW 7 Series (2003)
Last updated on: Jan 06 2009
In the world of cars, the name BMW is synonymous with quality - so much so that the 2002 model of the BMW 7 Series was considered a failure by some, considering the lofty standards set by BMW. Nonetheless, it was followed by the entry of the 2003 BMW 7 Series into the market. The range of cars which make up the 2003 series include the 745i, 745Li and 760Li. The sedans in this series have been given a complete makeover of sorts, and it is easily noticeable that they are completely different from their previous year's counterparts.
Equipped with V8 and V12 engines (the latter for the 760 model), the sedans comprise of an automatic transmission over six speeds, disc brakes together with traction and dynamic stability control and the wheels are eighteen inches for the V8's, while nineteen-inch wheels are available with the V12 engines and the special (Sports Package - a later addition) V8 models.

Another addition halfway through the year was that of a transmission shift capability integrated with the steering wheel - both down-shift and up-shift. A standard feature of all the models is the Active Roll Stabilization, which opposes the slant of the body.
In comparison to its performance in the previous year, the sales of the BMW 7 Series took a 64 percent leap in 2002. With better handling, faster acceleration and spacious interiors, the sedans of the 2003 BMW 7 Series make for a much better driving experience than earlier models. At a relatively cheap price, the sedans also exhibit additional features which include adaptive brake lights, a smooth body underneath the sedan and a navigation system et al. The fact remains that they are a class apart from the vehicles that are structurally similar to the ones in this BMW series. Although, the online cost comes round to about nineteen thousand dollars, the cheapest deals can be found in the auctions.
