Last updated on: Feb 04 2012
The Honda Accord was launched as a compact hatchback, which later evolved into a mid-size vehicle. The 2005 model of the Accord is part of the seventh generation of the car – while the Accord was redesigned in the year 2003, the 2005 model saw the introduction of the Accord Hybrid, which has an excellent fuel economy. The Accord is a combination of high quality and technology with economy. The car has a very elegant look and is quite affordable for a luxury sedan. The Honda Accord is available as either a two door coupe or a four door sedan – the variations in the styling differs accordingly too.
The engine used in the Accord can be either a V6 or a four-cylinder engine. The V6 models give a sporty performance from the car, which in the Hybrid model is combined with fuel efficiency of an electric motor. The inline-4 cylinder engine has specifications to the tune of 2.4 litres, DOHC 16 valve iVTEC engine – generating 160 HP and torque of 161 lb-ft. The Accord is equipped with a five speed automatic transmission and an optional upgrade to six speed manual transmission is available. The front wheel drive runs at 24 MPG within city limits while on the open road its fuel efficiency goes up to 34 MPG. In addition, the car has a fuel capacity of 17.1 gallons, which gives another edge to the Accord.
To sum it all up, the Honda Accord, unlike the 2007 honda accord, ranks at the top of its class because of its high levels of performance and quality. If you want to get the cheapest deals for the car, then the first place to search would be the internet for auctions. However, getting a cheap deal in the bargain would just be an added incentive to owning the car.
