Mercedes Benz SL- Class (2003)
Last updated on: Aug 01 2010
Driving a Mercedes Benz is seen as the ultimate experience in the world of cars. But there is something even better than that - and it is to own a Mercedes Benz SL Convertible Roadster. The SL-class 2003 is one of the best driving experiences you could ever wish for.
It looks very similar to its predecessor (the SL500) with its internal features, aero styled body panels, its wheels, its special seats and the unique steering wheel. The difference lies under the hood. You lift the bonnet and you see the impressive 5.5 litre, V8 turbo charged engine which gives an impressive 493 bhp. It is capable of doing 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and what is even more impressive is its ability to go from 0 to 100 mph and then back to 0 in just 13.4 seconds.
It comes with an anti-lock braking system and a new technology called ABC which stands for Active Body Control. It has a five-speed automatic speed transmission system. Another impressive feature of SL is the hard roof top as opposed to cloth tops in other convertibles. This makes it lot quieter than other convertibles and lets you go places that you wouldn’t have gone to otherwise, in a convertible.
The car has ample leg space and additional space between seats to keep a briefcase. With the roof up, the boot space is sufficiently large to fit luggage for a family holiday. The seats are custom designed and have a pulse mode for a very effective built-in massage system. Some of the standard features of the car are dual zone auto A/C, ABS, ABC, navigation system, traction control, leather upholstery, rain sensors, memory seats and anti-theft alarm.
Although the car is priced at $113000, it can be bought at cheap rates through auctions. It is a nice way of striking good bargains and for getting this magnificent car at the cheapest possible rates.
