Mitsubishi Lancer (2006)

The Lancer is a compact car from Mitsubishi Motors, which is the seventh largest car manufacturer in the world in terms of sheer volumes of units sold globally. It is a world renowned car by a world renowned manufacturer.

Mitsubishi Lancer is often referred to as the smaller cousin of another famous car from the Mitsubishi stable - the Evolution. Both belong to separate class of cars and cater to different customers.

There are seven different generations of Lancer, with the 2006 model being part of the seventh generation. The lancer 2006 had a minor facelift compared to the 2005 model. The fascia of the car was changed from a bridged one to an open vent type. The Lancer has two models - the Ralliart and the Sportback, both powered by a 2.4 litre in line SOHC engine rated at 160 bhp (119 Kw) for the Sportback and 162 bhp(121 Kw) for the Ralliart. The Ralliart comes with a stiffer suspension, 16 inch alloy wheels, front bucket seats, fog lamps and an aerodynamic shape.

The Ralliant comes with five speed manual gear transmission and an optional 4 speed automatic gear system. The Sportback on the other hand comes with just one option of four speed automatic system.

The car also comes in two other variants, namely ES and O-Z rally. The other features available in the car are power windows, tilt steering control, sun roof, cruise control and keyless entry. It has a six speaker audio system with CD player and chrome handles. Apart from this, embroidered foot mats, intermittent wipers and split folding rear seats are also available to add to the list of features of this car.
