The production of the Mustang began in Michigan, USA in 1964 and the car is counted among Ford’s most successful launches. It is evident from the fact that the Mustang is the only pony car to have remained in production for so long without any interruption and has run for over four decades. The 2007 model is part of the fifth generation of the Ford Mustang.

The fifth generation Mustang was rolled out at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, and the styling echoes that of the Mustangs of the first generation. The 2007 model has a 4 litre, SOHC V6 engine and the engine powers up to 210 HP. It comprises of a pushrod overhead valve engine and three timing shafts with a single jackshaft between the banks.

The engine features a variable length intake. Tests by owners - and also the manufacturers - have shown that the engine is actually underrated in reported horsepower. The GT model of the 2007 Ford Mustang encompasses a 4.6 litre SOHC V8 engine, which is 3-valve modular with variable camshaft timing, which produces 300 HP.
