Mitsubishi Eclipse (2003)
Last updated on: Aug 01 2010
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is considered one of the best cars ever to hit the road. It was first launched in 1989 and the car is named after a famous race horse from the 18th century which won 26 races in a row. The Eclipse has all the key ingredients you come to expect; from world class styling to expert Japanese engineering.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 is a part of the third generation of this car and is very close in design to the Mitsubishi SST which was unveiled at the North American International motor show. The 4G63 in the SST has been replaced by 2.4 litre 16 valve, four cylinder SOHC which produces a 150 HP. The other variant is a 3.0 litre, 24 valve, V6 engine which is pulled by 205 horses.

The car comes with the option of a four speed automatic gear box or a five speed manual transmission. The car is available in two body styles - a two door sedan or a three door hatchback.
The GTS and GT/GTS Spyder models both have a 200 HP (150 kW) engine but the Spyder V6 was launched as a left hand drive in 2005. Apart from this, the car comes with all the regular features such as power steering, power windows, AC and stereo with CD changers. The car also has safety features like air bags. Japanese technology is very evident in every aspect of the car but conversely the styling of the car is very European and classy. All these features make driving the Eclipse a pleasurable experience.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a competitively priced car and considering the plethora of features it has to offer, is relatively cheap. Cheapest deals for this car can be found through auctions.
